These terms are between you and John Shoufler, operating Is This Bill at https://isthisbill.com. Contact: help@isthisbill.com. Mailing address: 5712 Morgan Rd, Russellville AR 72802.
By using the site you agree to these terms and to the Privacy policy.
The service
You upload a US medical bill, EOB, denial, or collections letter. We return a software reading — Pay, Wait, Dispute, or Check aid — and a draft letter you can edit. We do not send the letter. We do not pay anyone. We do not negotiate. We do not practice law, medicine, or certified coding.
Is This Bill is not a law firm, medical provider, or billing advocate. This is educational software. It can misread documents. You are responsible for what you send and what you pay.
License to process, not ownership
You grant us a limited license to process the files you upload so we can return a verdict and a draft. We do not take ownership of your documents. We do not sell them. We do not keep the uploaded file. Unsigned results are deleted within 24 hours. Saving is optional and requires an account.
You promise you are allowed to handle the paperwork you upload. Do not upload someone else’s documents unless you have that right.
Accounts
Sign-in is a magic link from help@isthisbill.com. No password. The link works once and expires in 20 minutes. You must be 18. One person, one email. You are responsible for the inbox that receives the link.
Fees
A check shows the verdict. The letter and the saved case are $4.99 once, or $12 a month for the desk. $12 per month for the desk (saved cases, family seats, dates, and email-in). $4.99 once to keep a single case. We never take a percentage of anything you save.
Fees are for software access. They do not change if a letter works or fails. On the website, Stripe handles the card. In the iPhone app, Apple bills desk and keep through in-app purchase and keeps its usual store commission. We do not store your full card number. If you arrived through a Residual Apps partner link, that partner may earn 25% of the software fee you pay. That is not a cut of anything you save on a medical bill. A workplace per-employee fee is not for sale until we publish it on Pricing. If a charge looks wrong, write help@isthisbill.com. We do not refund because you disagree with a verdict.
Household, workplace, email-in, partners
Household members you invite can see cases on that desk. You are responsible for who you invite. A workplace join does not grant the employer access to your documents. Email-in only analyzes mail from an address that belongs to a signed-in account that accepted the disclaimer. A partner introduction is optional and is not legal or advocacy services from us. A partner works for themselves.
Acceptable use
Do not break the site, probe other people’s cases, upload malware, scrape, or use the service to give professional advice to someone else as if you were us. We may refuse, rate-limit, or close an account.
No professional relationship
A verdict is a reading of the pages you uploaded. It is not a determination that a debt is valid or invalid. It is not permission to ignore a collector. The software can misread a page. Low-confidence or unreadable files will not receive a confident verdict. That is a feature. You are responsible for what you send to a provider, insurer, or collector, and for what you pay.
Not a records locker
We are not your medical-records vendor. We do not claim this product is HIPAA-certified. We do not sign business associate agreements so you can store a family’s bills here. If you need a vault, use something built for that.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that a verdict is complete, current, or fit for a particular decision to pay or not pay. We do not guarantee savings.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, John Shoufler is not liable for lost money, a collections action, a denied appeal, or other indirect or consequential loss from using the service. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.
Some states do not allow certain limits. If that is your state, those limits apply only as far as they can.
Your responsibility
You will defend and hold John Shoufler harmless from claims that come from paperwork you were not allowed to upload, from letters you sent, or from your misuse of the site.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may stop the service or an account. Unsigned cases still purge in 24 hours. Saved cases follow the Privacy policy.
US law
The service is offered for the United States only. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Pope County, Arkansas are the venue, except where a consumer-protection statute requires otherwise.
Changes
We may change these terms by posting a new dated copy here. If you continue to use the site after that date, the new copy applies. If you do not agree, stop using the site and delete the account.
